The project

Saxon Hill Community School in Lichfield supports children with a range of physical, sensory, communication, and learning needs.

Bettaquip designed, supplied, and installed a new kitchen and community café as part of the school’s upgraded facilities. The kitchen was designed to improve workflow, increase preparation space, and upgrade equipment to accommodate the menu and special dietary needs. A full range of Electrolux cooking equipment was installed, along with a wash-up area, hood-type dishwasher, and mobile servery counters to match the dining area’s colour scheme.

The community café was designed not only for community events but also to offer skills training for students. Events such as family fun days, themed evenings, and self-catering parties are hosted regularly. According to Assistant School Business Manager Wes Morris, the new kitchen has greatly improved food quality and preparation time, with self-clearing trolleys making the process easier for students and staff alike.
