BETTAquip has recently completed extensive refurbishment works to the staff dining facilities in all of the Automobile Association (AA) main office sites in the UK.
In conjunction with Aramark the catering service provider for the AA, BETTAquip received the brief to revamp the existing staff restaurants and serveries in order to enhance customer experience through improved customer flow, reduced queuing times, improved food offerings and enhanced environment.
AA’s offices in Cardiff, Newcastle, Cheadle, Oldbury and Basingstoke all had improvement works carried out within a 6 week programme in order to introduce a consistent fresh food offer across all sites.
BETTAquip was able to provide a modern dining experience which met the very different requirements of the large number of people who work in the five different buildings. Every restaurant had the introduction of “Live Action” induction cooking zones in order to enable freshly prepared hot meals to be delivered theatre style in front of the customer. Stir fries, Noodles, Crepes are some of the mouth watering dishes served in this way.
The same philosophy applies to the deli counter where sandwiches, wraps, baguettes and paninis are made freshly to order.
Self service salad bars and inset hot soup stations also feature in all the restaurants. The project was extremely fast track with the first site going live only 3 weeks from receiving the award of the contract. Detailed Planning and Project Management enabled all works to be carried out of hours enabling the restaurants to continue to operate during working hours.
Brian Steventon Facilities Manager for the AA commented: “The reason we used BETTAquip on a number of projects was because I found Andy and his team to be pro-active and easy to work with. It was their attention to detail and focus which enabled us to complete all of the projects within a tight schedule and to a high standard.”
